Lockdown is taking its toll on individuals in a number of ways; many are struggling working in isolation indoors, others haven’t seen family members or friends in months, while others are experiencing anxiety around job security and money.

All of this combined has sparked an increase in mental health issues, and a study by King’s College London supports this. Last year, it found that during the early stages of lockdown, 57% of respondents stated that they felt anxious, while 64% reported symptoms of early signs of depression.

While Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to outline the UK’s roadmap out of lockdown on February 22, restrictions are likely still to remain in place for some time, meaning the mental health of workers will remain a huge concern.

And now additional data has found that one in five home workers aren’t going outside in daylight hours during the week as lockdown continues to take its toll.
