Jackie Weaver | What viral Handforth Council meeting tells us about Zoom leadership

With most people stuck at home and glued to social media as their only way of interacting with the outside world, it makes sense that one chaotic Zoom meeting that made it to the Twitter-sphere has gone viral.

In fact, social media users from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are all gawping – and sharing with mates via WhatsApp too – at the Handforth Parish Council meeting where participants traded insults, laughed hysterically and were ultimately booted off the Zoom call during an extraordinary meeting.

Although the meeting was held on December 10, 2020, it is now the centre of attention, in part due to the behaviour of those councillors present.

From one person telling another councillor “you have no authority here Jackie Weaver” to another muttering “f*** off” under their breath, the meeting was chaotic.
