All organisations need top talent to help them be successful which is why it is crucial that employers think about how the new immigration rules may impact their hiring efforts going forwards.

On December 31, 2020, free movement with the European Union (EU) ended and the UK introduced a points-based immigration system.

According to the Government’s website, the points-based system treats EU and non-EU citizens equally and aims to attract those people who can positively contribute to the UK’s economy.

This means that anyone hired to work in the UK from outside of the UK, not including Irish Citizens, must meet certain requirements and request permission.
