Recruitment fraud has been growing traction over the last few months amid the global pandemic, with fraudsters tricking desperate job seekers into handing over cash for fake positions.

Campaign group SAFERjobs has received 800 reports of job scams this year alone, a 65% rise on last year. In addition, the UK Government-backed charity previously reported that it has witnessed a 66% rise in fake jobs during lockdown.

And it seems these figures are not slowing down as employment continues to take a huge hit with redundancies being announced regularly and businesses being forced to close their doors.
