Staff 'raise concerns' in return-to-workplace furore

Some staff at the tech behemoth Dyson, working in the firm’s engineering department, have been the subject of dispute within the company regarding returning to the workplace – The Guardian has reported. 

According to the publication, the team, which feels it is capable of carrying out its duties remotely, have raised concerns with managers after alleging that they are being ‘forced’ to return to their workplaces within the UK for a second time during a Government-mandated lockdown.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a month-long lockdown in England between Thursday November 5, 2020, and December 2, 2020.

Dyson, the firm owned and operated by controversial business magnate Sir James Dyson, last week told all staff under the ‘research and development’ umbrella that they must return to its two sites located in Wiltshire – noting that only ‘exception cases’ would justify continuation of remote working.
