Whereas once remote working was a chance to power through your workload without the distractions of the office, since the pandemic took hold many who are working from home have found that their work days are busier than ever.

The average working day is a constant battle against an ever-fuller email inbox, direct messages from colleagues and phone calls. It’s unsurprising, given this, that a new study by Myna found that 47% of workers are currently suffering from ‘Zoom fatigue’ due to the high volume of meetings and one-to-one calls taking place.

So what can you do to actually make a dent into your workload and manage the torrent of comms that head your way each day?

One solution currently making the rounds is known as a ‘mega day’. But what is that? Essentially, the concept of a mega day is a method of time management. Workers often split their calendar up into achievable tasks. For example, replying to an email may take five minutes, reading through a group chat may take fifteen and a meeting may take an hour.
