Are you a worse boss than you think you are?

Never before have bosses faced the kind of unprecedented range of challenges that lay before them today.

Of course, the pandemic has wreaked havoc for the vast majority of 2020, whilst legislative and economic fallout from changing consumer habits, supply chains,  the inability to re-enter the workplace for many, and the looming prospect of a no-deal Brexit are all issues that require constant and divisive attention from bosses, many of whom are looked-upon to blaze a trail for the company to follow.

And doing so in the current climate is hard; in a time when confidence across the business world is low, believing in your own abilities to such an extent that you feel self-assured enough to make potentially career-defining decisions for the welfare of your people is a herculean expectation.

In fact, the data gleamed from a survey of over 750 full-time managers and 750 employees found that 84% of leaders reported feeling that they were doing a good job of supporting employees in the midst of the pandemic – yet only 69% of employees felt the same way.
