In any role, it is important that employees feel happy, motivated and as though they can add value. Not only does this have individual benefits for the employee, but it can have huge benefits for employers and leaders too in terms of workplace productivity and retention.
And new research conducted by the payroll & HR services provider SD Worx and the Antwerp Management School pre-COVID found that more than half of British workers (53%) said they were happy in their current role.
When job satisfaction levels were compared with other countries in Europe, those working in Belgium came out on top with the highest job satisfaction levels at 72%, with the Dutch (66.9%) and the Germans (55.4%) also ranking highly on the list.
In addition, the research found that 52.7% of Brits felt enthusiastic about what they do while also being ‘absorbed’ in their work, with 54.6% of German workers and 53.9% of French staff stating the same.
