Numerous businesses within the UK are set to defy the Prime Minister’s push to get workers back to offices this August, with many big firms planning to keep to their working arrangements or delaying the return to the workplace until September.

According to a Guardian analysis, law firms, insurers, energy providers and tech firms are among the businesses showing extreme caution towards the Government’s advice to get people back to work.

Some businesses including the likes of Google, Twitter and NatWest Group have gone one step further, informing their employees that they can stay home until 2021 or ‘forever’ if they wish.

Many of the major British employers contacted by The Guardian revealed they are not planning a wholesale return to offices from August 1, when the Government advice on working from home will have officially changed in England.
