Remote working has, in many ways, done away with much of the physical formalities of the workplace.
Whereas the need to dress smart whilst doing your job from home is still a hotly-debated issue, many have found that staff are just as productive, if not more so, when wearing clothes they simply deem to be comfortable.
However, with the rise of video chat functions becoming an every-day part of working life for remote employees, a spate of new issues have been raised. For example, earlier this week Executive Grapevine revealed that one in seven UK workers have spent money on items solely to make themselves look impressive when on a video call.
Whether this is a fancy new desk, an expensive vase or new curtains to hang as a backdrop, it's clear that the aesthetics of the workplace are still important to some.
