Good leadership skills and the ability to steer both the business and staff in the right direction through the pandemic is crucial for survival. So is good communication between staff and leaders.

Yet, a recent global study unearthed a remarkable disconnect between the responses and actions of leaders during the pandemic and the behaviours employees say they have witnessed from those at the top.

‘Compassion gap’

The research conducted by the Center for Compassionate Leadership unearthed that while 67% of leaders said they are responding with more compassion (particularly through the current crisis), just 39% of staff members said they are experiencing more compassionate behaviour from bosses.
