The coronavirus pandemic has forced businesses across the UK to rethink various strategies, from HR and recruitment, to growth strategies – leaders have had to come up with new ways to tackle each one.
Due to many employees now working from home in a bid to help curb the spread of coronavirus, the way in which new starters are recruited and onboarded has dramatically changed. For example, this is now achieved virtually, with job interviews now taking place over a video or Zoom call, while successful applicants are introduced to their teams in a similar manner.
Long gone are the traditional ways, in which a jobseeker would have met face-to-face with their potential new boss and taken part in an interview within the organisation’s office.
But it seems that this new form of recruitment is working. In fact, two-thirds of businesses have successfully interviewed, offered and onboarded new starters virtually during the pandemic.
