There are many factors that can help carve out a great leader, from having honesty and integrity to being able to speak confidently to guiding employees and a business from the front.

However, to acquire many of these skills means investing money into training either via personal savings or company budgets. But it seems there is now one core skill every business leader needs, which doesn’t cost a penny to explore.

In an article published by Smart Belief, there is a specific technique all leaders should equip themselves with called ‘fierce listening’. Listening is something many leaders already do in their day-to-day roles, but according to the piece, it is something that many leaders can actually significantly get better at.

According to a poll that was launched by the author of the article during a previous webinar on the concept of listening, attendees were asked how they felt when they realised the other party in a conversation wasn’t paying attention to them. The 700 attendees shared similar feelings that it made them feel upset, disappointed, angry and disrespected.
