A large part of the UK tuned into BBC to watch the Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor recount his side of the story after reports broke on Friday that he had broken lockdown.

The story centres on Dominic Cummings' – a name that, perhaps, few had heard before this weekend – apparent trip to Durham and back to London despite having symptoms of COVID-19.

Cummings admitted he took the trip at a time when the Government were advising everyone to stay at home – bar a few reasons.

Whilst the debate as to whether Cummings broke lockdown rules rages at the top of the current news cycle, the bank holiday weekend’s biggest news story does pose a serious question for HR and employers.
