Extra paper, deep cleans & one-way walking

Since the UK Government unveiled ‘COVID-secure’ guidelines for employers earlier this week, businesses and office facilities have been drawing up plans to facilitate a safe return to work.

The London estate Canary Wharf – which is home to the European headquarters of banking giants Barclays, Citigroup, HSBC and others – has issued guidance to tenants on the back of Government guidelines which will help organisations to return staff to work safely when lockdown measures are lifted.

The Financial Times reported that these draft plans, to bring lawyers, accountants and bankers back to work, include controlled walkways around the premises, daily deep cleaning and the removal of soft furnishings.

This news comes soon after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that those unable to do their jobs from home should return to work.
