The UK Government has released ‘COVID-19 secure’ guidelines which detail strategies to help employers operate workplaces safely.
The ‘best practice’ guidance, which was developed after consultation with trade bodies, unions, Public Health England (PHE) and Health and Safety Executive (HSE), covers eight workplace settings which can be open under current measures. These range from construction sites, outdoor environments, and takeaway services.
Guidance from the Government focussed on five key points which the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) said should be actioned by employers “as soon as it is practical”:
