Elon Musk's controversial coronavirus remarks

Elon Musk, the highly influential and often controversial entrepreneur behind world-leading companies such as electric car brand Tesla and space exploration giant SpaceX, has gained a reputation across the globe for his willingly-divulged opinions and insights into his mind, which are often posted via the medium of Twitter.

Musk is no stranger to controversy; In August of 2019, Musk tweeted, "Nuke Mars," reiterating a strange sentiment he expressed whilst guesting on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in 2015. At the time, Musk claimed to believe that sending a nuclear warhead to the deserted planet could warm its temperature, therefore potentially making it habitable.

In a Reddit AMA (ask me anything) in 2016, Musk discussed his vision for future habitation on Mars – a planet his SpaceX program intends to visit as soon as possible. When asked about what he’d like to build on Mars, he stated: "I want to build everything from iron foundries to pizza joints."

However harmless or in jest these comments seem to be, the business magnate recently caused outrage by tweeting several of his thoughts on the coronavirus, which he claims is being mismanaged worldwide.
