3 simple steps to better corporate culture

‘Corporate culture’ has very much become the buzz phrase of the moment in the HR industry.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a handful of HR directors who don't list culture among the top imperative factors that define their policies – and for good reason. Culture impacts every corner of the business, from customer care to employee wellbeing, productivity to quality of output. These elements all hinge on how your employees feel they fit into the ecosystem of day-to-day life within the business.

The numbers support this; a Deloitte study found that 94% of executives and 88% of employees believe a distinct workplace culture is imperative to business success whilst CultureIQ findings suggested that employees’ overall ratings of their company’s qualities — like collaboration, work environment, and mission and value alignment — are 20% higher at companies with strong cultures.

And it is no coincidence that there is a distinct correlation between businesses placing culture at the heart of their operations and their popularity amongst customers and investors. In fact, being named a ‘Best Place to Work’ company is associated with a 75% stock jump and a four times increase in revenue growth – according to Glassdoor and Forbes respectively.
