Understanding the values of an employer is fundamental to many staff members, so that they have a clear vision of what their organisation expects and hopes for to drive business.

However, shocking research has revealed that nearly half of the UK’s employees can’t recite their employer’s values, with 52% admitting that they don’t know what their company’s vision is.

Analysis of 1,000 firms in the Great Places to Work database revealed that one in five employees don’t feel their employer’s values are reflected in the daily behaviours of staff, while 27% of respondents felt the values contained too much corporate jargon, indicating that they were not clear enough to give staff direction.

In addition, the database discovered a strong link between financial performance and the extent to which employees believed in their company’s values.
