Toxic work cultures are something every business leader hopes to avoid, as a 2018 Harvard Business School Study of 60,000 employees revealed that 78% of employees said their commitment to an organisation declined in the face of toxic behaviour.
The research also discovered that 80% of employees lost work time worrying about the offending employee's rudeness and 66% said their performance declined – indicating why bosses will strive to build a positive work environment.
One business leader who has recently come under fire for a toxic culture is Mike Bloomberg, Co-Founder of Bloomberg L.P. In a dossier obtained by Business Insider, it has been alleged that he allowed a toxic working environment in which he called a woman ‘dog face’ and allowed an editor to give female employees massages.
