Firm fights Glassdoor's user anonymity after bad reviews

Glassdoor is a website that allows current and former employees to anonymously review companies, submit information regarding their experience of a company’s culture and the treatment of staff and rate their overall experience throughout their tenure.

The key attraction point with Glassdoor is that it is anonymous – so commentators don’t fear that posting honest accounts of their time at a company will compromise their job prospects going forwards – which makes it a popular choice for prospective employees when looking to switch roles. This rings true with the stats.

53% of jobseekers look for company information on job search websites like Glassdoor and use it to inform their job-switching decisions, according to research from the company.

So, it is clear that a poor Glassdoor score can be detrimental to organisations wanting to attract and retain top talent as it may ward off potential employees.
