Tech has played a huge role in the world of work. From changing the ways that teams communicate, streamlining business operations to make them more productive, increasing collaboration between departments and improving employee efficiency, technology has a lot to answer for.

One area of work that could benefit from technology is the hiring process. Should HR use social media for hiring purposes?

‘Not a panacea’

David Gawthorpe, Head of Resourcing at Stagecoach Bus previously told HR Grapevine that social media hiring shouldn’t be viewed as a ‘panacea’. While it can support the first step of the hiring process – that helps attract candidates to new roles – employers shouldn’t be tempted by the idea that social media can “solve all ills”.
