Just Eat is instantly recognisable across Western Europe.

Operating in some form in 13 countries across the world, it would be easy to perceive that it has been around since the dawn of internet commerce – especially as they were the first big player, on what is now a crowded, online food delivery marketplace.

Yet the brand didn’t exist before 2001. It was just after the millennium that it was founded by five Danish entrepreneurs; one of whom bought the others out and moved the business to the UK in 2005.

Fast forward a few years and it is now a food delivery stalwart with over 3,600 employees; sponsoring shows such as The X Factor as well as having had their brand splayed across a top-level football team’s kit, whilst also being listed on the LSE.
