All workers have dreamed about packing it all in and taking the first flight out to a remote beach where the sand is white and the sea is blue.

Yet, securing a senior position inside a progressive company isn’t easy. With so much competition, it takes a lifetime of hard graft, education and failure to start seeing some significant success – so surely throwing in the towel to take a break after setting yourself up for continued success is unthinkable – right?

Well, maybe not.

Whilst in decades past flitting off in the middle of a prolific career would be seen as absurd, the next generation of leaders (Millennials) are expected to make up 35% of the workforce by 2020, and a recent report from ManpowerGroup states that 84% of this demographic foresee significant career breaks along the way.
