Can HR allow staff to nap at work?

Earlier this week, the US Government hit headlines after it issued a directive ban against napping at work.

In a recent directive ordered by the General Services Administration earlier this month, they said: "All persons are prohibited from sleeping in federal buildings, except when such activity is expressing authorised by an agency official.”

Despite this, experts are urging the Government to reverse its decision due to the sheer impact that sleep deprivation and fatigue has on businesses and the economy.

Some employers, such as Ben & Jerry’s and Google, are already leading the way with a dedicated nap room to allow employees to grab forty winks around their job.
