Work-related stress and anxiety is a key contributing factor when it comes to an employee’s mental health and sickness, which as a result can damage productivity and increase absences.

Earlier this year Beeja Meditation’s survey revealed that 26% of respondents feel stressed several times a week, while 22% reported feeling stressed daily. Additionally, research from the British Safety Council found that 1.4million workers had suffered from ill health due to work in 2017/18.

With employee burnout and mental health among some of the biggest challenges professionals face daily, it has never been more vital for employers to understand why employees are suffering and what triggers are causing workplace stress.

This is something Lottie Galvin, Mental Health First Aider at iHASCO, agreed with. She suggested that employers should work to raise more awareness of stress in the workplace.
