Receiving some form of recognition and feeling valued within the workplace is vital for building a productive workforce.

If employees feel appreciated and believe that they are respected, it’s likely they will go the extra mile when it comes to meeting deadlines, taking on workloads and ensuring they perform to a high standard – it’s simple mathematics.

While this may be true, recent statistics shared by payroll & HR software and services provider, Moorepay, have found that a feeling of being valued isn’t commonplace within UK organisations. In a new report titled The Engaged Employer, one in three British employees (34%) don’t feel valued by their employer.

Following the release of the report, HR Grapevine caught up with Anthony Vollmer, Managing Director of Moorepay, to find out why he believes employers should place a bigger emphasis on how they reward and show their appreciation to staff members.
