Most HR representatives would like to believe that they’ve created an environment in which all workers are able to carry out their duties without fear of mental or physical harm.
The workplace, as the location in which we spend the vast majority of our waking hours in the week, should be a friendly and tolerant environment for workers, regardless of factors such as race and gender, yet this isn’t always the case.
In fact, a report researched and published by the BBC in 2017 found that half of all women in the workplace and one fifth of all men have experienced some form of sexual harassment. Worryingly, 63% of women and 79% of men stated that they didn’t report it.
