We all have meetings at work. Some are important meetings, with a big company change on the horizon or the announcement of a new project. Others, Microsoft found, are counterproductive.
Daily meetings that are mandatory aren’t exactly the most thrilling or engaging way to spend your day. Then again, nor is working long hours with short deadlines and constant travel.
Microsoft knew it had a growing number of unhappy employees; however, the main problem was the fact that the firm couldn’t work out what was causing this unhappiness.

The firm conducted an internal study to find out the major difference between happy and unhappy employees, the New York Times reported. Microsoft discovered that unnecessary meetings were actually the cause of workplace unhappiness.
