Depending on your confidence, Boardroom meetings are either your chance to prove to important people that you’re a valuable asset or, for the meek among us, they’re your worst nightmare and you’re counting down the minutes until you can escape.

1. If you have the option, lower the frequency
Calling a meeting can be a powerful move; you’re calling together your peers and superiors to discuss a serious issue in which all of your ideas will be heard and discussed. It’s your chance to incite real change and prove yourself –but it can also make you look silly if you do it too much. To maintain impact, ensure that you’re only calling meetings for serious issues – e-mail is ideal for everything else.
