According to research from Glassdoor, 67% of both active and passive jobseekers said that they consider diversity an important factor when selecting an employer of choice. Despite diversity being high up on the agenda for jobseekers, additional statistics have insinuated that it isn’t high up on the agenda for a high portion of employers.
A recent SHRM report recently found that 41% of senior managers are “too busy” to implement diversity initiatives, while more than half (57%) of employees think that their employers should actively seek greater diversity. Contrary to the statistics, Karen Davies, Head of HR at both Washington Green Fine Art and Castle Fine Art – fine art retailer firms – told HR Grapevine about the benefits of harbouring a diverse and inclusive organisation, as well as the ways that employers can recognise and celebrate a diversity of thought.
