Sharron Pommels, People Director at Virgin Management spoke exclusively to HR Grapevine about the future of modern work, employee benefits, automation and innovative thinking.

HRG: How has Virgin’s approach to people management evolved in recent years?

Sharron: We’re continually developing our services with the future of work in mind, ensuring that our culture and our environment supports our people to be the happiest and most productive that they can possibly be. We’re currently in the process of automating our systems across a number of key HR functions, including recruitment and selection, onboarding and payroll.

Our employee portal allows colleagues to access and personalise their benefits, such as booking and managing unlimited leave. Our people can also manage their pensions and opt-in for benefits such as private healthcare, dental plans and health assessments to support their overall wellbeing.

Is technology helping you to roll out employee benefits programmes effectively?
