Will in-house L&D make a come-back?

Workplace learning can often feel mundane. For many employees, training days and mandatory development sessions are attended resentfully.

To modernise and change the perception of laborious training days, some employers have toyed with the idea of outsourcing L&D to external companies, with views that this may provide better third-party insights and more interesting training solutions for their workforces. And there are many reasons for this.

Yourelearningworld.com reported that many employers have favoured outsourcing training and development rather than hiring their own L&D programme designers.

This is because businesses can enjoy both commercial and financial gains from opting for external training support.

Additionally, if employers only require occasional bursts of training, it makes more sense to hire an external L&D specialist to come in when needed and not to have a permanent in-house role that could be more costly.
