For many years mental health has been deemed a taboo subject.

People have lived in fear that vocalising mental health challenges may hinder their opportunity for promotion and progression within the workplace, as this could make them seem unable to cope with accelerated work pressures. However, as more and more public-eye figures and senior leaders step forward to discuss some of the mental health challenges that they have faced, it has enabled others to talk about their own battles with mental health more openly.

Last Tuesday, more than 750 delegates from over 120 companies gathered at the This Can Happen conference in London which focussed on mental health in the workplace. HRH the Duke of Cambridge joined the conference to discuss the importance of supporting employees overcoming mental health challenges.
