Over a third (36%) of bosses anticipate that they will continue working during their summer holidays, according to research conducted by CEO mentoring organisation, Vistage.
More than 50% of the respondents repeatedly fail to take their full holiday entitlement per year.
Geoff Lawrence, Vistage’s Marketing Director, says: “A lot of our members say they find it difficult to let go from the day-to-day and really relax on holiday. The ability to keep in touch with the office on email becomes a kind of comfort blanket that they use to stay in control when they should really be recharging their batteries.”
The study found that one in ten were found to cut holiday plans short or cancelling family get-togethers because of work pressures.
