Research shows that healthier people are generally happier, more creative and productive. The health and wellbeing of the workforce can have significant economic impact, with the annual cost to the UK economy from working‑age ill health estimated at £100billion a year - according to DWP. This may be related to the health effects of building‑sickness syndrome, caused by environmental factors such as lack of fresh air, poor lighting, substandard furniture and other issues.
