6. Stealing from the office canteen

Employers whom provide generous benefit packages are doing so to keep their workforce happy, healthy and inspired. These can include gym memberships, private healthcare and free on-site meals.

When one employee, on a day off, came into the office canteen to the do some grocery shopping, it ended in a quick dismissal. Not content with the free lunches provided by the company, said employee came in, took a bunch of bananas from the serving area, placed them in a bag and attempted to walk out. Challenged, the (very obvious) banana theft was denied and the employee eventually sacked.

 According to reports, he was on a very generous remuneration package as well.
