4. Flexible working hours move
Increasingly employers are moving away from traditional office-centric working practises, giving workers freedom to choose their own hours and place of work.
One forward-thinking company gave employers almost complete freedom: requiring workers to only be in office during ‘core hours’ which were four hours per day for three days of the week.
When one colleague had not been seen for a fortnight – yet had been active on emails and office messenger – a manager had called him to find that he had moved to an entirely different city from where the organisation was based.
