The most ridiculous reasons for employee dismissal

Employee dismissals are a sensitive area. They usually require a member of the workforce to have shown a reduction in their capabilities or engaged in unacceptable conduct.

Mostly, dismissals are for serious incidents: fraud; dishonesty; alcohol or drug abuse; and theft. Not forgetting that sackings can occur for contravening employee codes or leaking information.

Whilst it is easy to imagine serious incidents whereby terminating an employee’s contract would be inevitable, there are some laugh-out-loud examples of staff foolishness that have led to managers dishing out a P45.
