If you’re feeling wanderlust creep up on you and you’ve got a spare moment this weekend, head to The Adventure Travel Show at Olympia London. The show hosts talks and exhibitions from specialist adventure travel companies who are there to help you discover new places to go. There are also opportunities to enhance your skills in travel photography, travel writing and adventure filming.
Whilst we are synonymous with complaining about the weather here in Britain, nearly half of UK workers cannot remember the last time they went on holiday. According to research from Holiday Cottages, the average Brit waits 7 months to take a weekend break.
Recently we spoke to Dr Christian Jessen, Doctor and TV Presenter of the BAFTA award winning ‘Embarrassing Bodies’. He told us that refusing to take holiday and constantly working can cause stress-related illnesses, and eventually individuals that refuse to rest will eventually “burn out.” Find our more in our next issue of HR Grapevine, where he directs his advice to employers about the importance of taking time off.
