Brexit job exodus is getting closer to becoming a reality

Brexit means Br-EXIT - the reality of a British jobs exodus is nigh, as city banks confirm that they will be moving their staff to an EU country.

Both HSBC and UBS have confirmed the worst fears of ardent ‘remoaners’ by revealing that some employees in its London operation will definitely move as a result of Brexit.

HSBC’s Chief Executive, Stuart Gulliver told Bloomberg he plans to move 1,000 staff from London to Paris. UBS’ President, Andrea Orcel, told the BBC "about 1,000" of its 5,000 London jobs could be hit by Brexit – most likely to Frankfurt.

The decisions come just days after Theresa May confirmed that Britain will be leaving the EU single market and the EU customs union.
