3 work-life lessons taught by ants

Previous perceptions of ants as the busybody, never-stop worker drones of the insect world have been challenged, by new research from Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Though it is near-impossible not to enjoy the attempts of Disney-Pixar (A Bug’s Life) and Dreamworks (Antz), in animating the lives of ants, they don’t show us how cleverly they work.

However, Dr Chen Hou’s research team at Missouri S&T have extensively monitored ant colonies, providing clarity on their working behaviour.

Whilst in office, and at home, we struggle to implement balance, efficiency and utility, Dr Hou has found that ants have mastered these skills in their efforts towards collective goals.
