Planet Organic's HR Director: 3 tips to get Board buy-in

There isn’t a business that doesn’t claim that ‘people are their most important asset’, but often this doesn’t translate to the Boardroom.

This doesn’t necessarily require a seat at the table for HR, but at least buy-in and recognition of the function from those that do sit at the top.

For Planet Organic this has certainly been achieved. Kim Gieske, HR Director at the organic supermarket, is one of only four Directors who run the business on a day-to-day basis - alongside the CEO, the CFO and the Food Service Director. She says: “I take HR very seriously and I know that it can have a huge impact.”

And this viewpoint seems to be shared throughout the food, health and beauty chain.

Gieske, who will be speaking at HR Grapevine’s annual event ‘The Magic of HR’ in March 2017', says that this buy-in comes down to three things.
