Technology is infiltrating every aspect of our lives – and we already know that it will render a plethora of professions without jobs.
For example, Capita plan to cut 2,000 jobs and use the money saved to invest in automated technology company-wide; a production firm in China is already shedding staff in favour of robots and Glasgow Airport recently hired a robot to entertain passengers.
Whilst the human touch won’t be cast aside in every industry just yet, CareerCast.com’s annual list of the top 10 most endangered jobs in the US shows that automation is reaching far and wide.
The list collates jobs that “have felt the squeeze of labour market changes in recent years, and face unfavourable hiring forecasts for the years to come,” the report reads.
