Arianna Huffington, Founder and ex-Editor-in-Chief of The Huffington Post, is a businesswoman who knows how to command a room.
At a recent Business Insider conference, Huffington was interviewed via Facebook Live, and asked what qualities she looks for in a new recruit.
Huffington is currently the CEO of start-up Thrive Global, and revealed that the fist attribute she wants to see in a candidate is the “confidence to speak up”.
"I love working with people who say exactly what's on their minds," she explained to Business Insider.
The second quality she admired was the ability to take care of yourself. "I think it takes a certain person to recognize that, when they take care of themselves, they're going to be better at their jobs,” she commented.
Throughout the interview, Huffington explained an issue close to her heart – the importance of restfulness for improved business acumen. Having written a book, entitled ‘The Sleep Revolution’, Huffington explained how people were only just starting to wake up to the fact that "all of the things we value in business are going to be affected in a negative way if we don't get enough sleep."
So, it seems candidates looking to work for this business magnate need confidence, self-reliance and the ability to switch off.
