The lunch break is sacred for employees, giving them a chance to unwind, eat, and recharge for the remainder of the working day.
However, despite the abundance of literature advocating a healthy work-life balance, research about UK employee’s lunch habits is surprising - one in four admit to eating at their desk five times a week, with 40% of them attributing this to having too much work.
The research from Benenden also found that an increasing number of UK workers are not taking their full, hour-long lunch break at work, with 59% of employees only managing to take a thirty-minute break.
However, not taking a full break can reduce productivity, according to research by Get More Vitamin Drinks. They found that the exact time the lunch time slump hits is 2.22pm, where concentration and energy plummets.
