Changing jobs and seeing an alteration in employment situation can be a stressful time.
Now, just imagine how Barack Obama feels, going from the biggest – and arguably best – job in America to the world of jobseeking. His transition won’t be harsh: he will be able to pick and choose what he does - the Daily Express reports that he will probably spend more time working with charity My Brother’s Keeper Alliance and working on another book – but not everyone is that lucky.
The Daily Express also reports he will receive a lifelong pension of $205,7000 (£168,000) as well as other benefits – such as paid-for Secret Service agents, healthcare, and travel expenses - to “maintain dignity” outside of office.
Sepura's Group Chief HR Officer, James Griffiths, reflects on his experiences of outplacement to HR Grapevine: “Like many HR Directors I have, unfortunately, been involved in numerous situations that included an element of downsizing or restructuring, resulting in outplacement. However, I believe that outplacement, when executed correctly, can have many benefits for both the business and the employee.
