How to handle a departing employee

Goold says: “There are 50 ways to leave your lover, sang Paul Simon. There are probably a similar number of ways of handling an employee’s departure. Yet the matter of how the process is handled is often neglected, despite its importance.

“Getting the approach right doesn’t just smooth the process and help the departing individual, it can enhance the operation and reputation of the employer. We have distilled a healthy approach to five principles and practices.”
