Why are gay workers still hiding their sexuality at work?

Many men still chose to hide their sexuality from their colleagues, according to a new study.

Research from the University of Cincinnati, US, found that gay men often hide their sexuality in the workplace, especially in corporate and executive roles – Pink News reports.

The report found that gay and bisexual men feel like they have to “manage” their sexuality when at work, hiding their gender identity out of anxiety or worry.

This includes cloaking certain behaviours, such as gestures and body language, in order to avoid “potential negative consequences” from co-workers.
