An alarming 80% of UK employees wouldn’t take time off for a stress related illness, despite stress being a prevalent problem in the workplace, research by Canada Life Group Insurance suggests.
Additional research by CV-Library, found that 57% believe that their manager does not offer support to help them manage stress at work.
Cited as the biggest causes of stress at work, the respondents reported bad management (65%), followed by low morale (38 %), unfriendly colleagues (35%), and heavy workloads (34%).
Long working hours and poor work-life balance also accounted for workplace stress.
